Spa sued for allegedly burning customer with hot rocks

GRETNA – A spa is being sued by a customer who claims he received serious burns from a hot rock treatment.

Troy Rosales filed suit against Giay T. Ngo, Victoria Regal Nails, an unknown employee, Certain Underwrites at Lloyd’s London in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 20.

Rosales claims that on Nov. 30 he was a customer at Victoria Regal Nails when an employee applied hot rocks to his the skin on his leg. The plaintiff asserts that the rocks were heated to an extremely high temperature that resulted in severe burns.

The defendant is accused of failing to carefully and reasonably apply cosmetic products, failing to warn invitees of potentially dangerous products, failing to properly monitor employees and failing implement adequate safety measures.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of life’s pleasures, personal disabilities, medical expenses, wage losses, impairment of earning capacity and damage to familial relationships.

Rosales is represented by William H. Beaumont of New Orleans-based William H. Beaumont Law LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
