Subcontractor sues general contrctor for $27K over alleged failure to pay

NEW ORLEANS – A subcontractor has filed suit against a general contractor over alleged non-payment for work completed.

Prats Sheet Metal Inc. filed suit against Crest Mechanical Construction Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

The suit states that plaintiff was hired as a subcontractor to provide labor and materials to the defendant. The project in question was completed on Nov. 14, 2011, and yet the plaintiff is still owed $26,997, and has not been paid despite amicable demand.

The plaintiff seeks the full sum due, plus legal interests from the date of the demand and all costs of the proceeding.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney Cameron C. Gamble of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
