GRETNA – A woman who was interviewing at a home health care agency when her interviewer allegedly dropped a full drawer on her foot is suing for permanent disability.
Pamela Hayes filed suit against American Alternative Insurance Corporation, Home Care Solutions LLC and Julie Broggi in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 16.
Hayes asserts that on Jan. 24, 2013 she was interviewing for a job at Home Care Solutions located at 2955 Ridgelake Drive in Metairie when an employee who was interviewing her pulled a desk drawer out and it fell on her foot. The defendant is accused of gross and wanton negligence, improper opening of a desk drawer and failing to properly maintain and repair the desk.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physicians’ professional services, prescription medications, pain and suffering, loss of wages, loss of future earning capacity, future medical expenses, permanent disability and loss of enjoyment of life.
Hayes is represented by Seth H. Schaumburg of New Orleans-based Favret, Demarest, Russo & Lutkewitte.
The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
