NEW ORLEANS – A former employee is suing a local management company claiming he is due years of back pay.
Joshua Thieman filed suit against Finke & McMenemon in the Orleans Parish Civil Civil District Court on Dec. 2, 2013.
Thieman claims that Finke & McMenemon owes him back salary and wages for work done in 2012 and 2013. He alleges that he was working for a weekly salary of $728.75, and then his employment changed to an hourly wage of $30 per hour. Thieman asserts that he worked 61.5 hours between Dec. 10, 2012 and Jan. 14, 2013 and has still not been paid. In addition, Thieman alleges that he was never paid for his last week of salaried work.
The defendant is accused of refusing to pay for the services Thieman provided in 2012 and 2013.
Thieman is suing for his salary of $728.75 and the 61.5 hours of hourly work as well as damages for economic and other losses, humiliation, embarrassment, personal indignity, apprehension about economic well-being, emotional distress, mental anguish and attorney’s fees.
Thieman is represented by Metairie-based law firm Kiefer & Kiefer.
