GRETNA – A fast food restaurant is being sued by a customer who claims she was injured after slipping on ice that built up outside the premises during an ice storm.
Rosa Guillory, and husband Regilee, filed suit against Strategic Restaurants Acquisition Corp., Strategic Restaurants Acquisition Company LLC, Strategic Restaurants Acquisition II LLC and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 17.
Guillory alleges she was entering the side entrance of a Burger King located at 2601 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Kenner during an ice storm and slipped on ice build-up and fell to the sidewalk. The plaintiff asserts she was seriously injured in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to properly drain water to keep it from turning into ice, allowing water to drip from the roof onto the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, failing to construct the premises according to Life Safety Code, failing to maintain the premises according to Jefferson Parish Building Code, failing to maintain premises according to Jefferson Parish Building Code and having notice of the defect.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for serious and painful injuries, pain and suffering, disability, medical expenses and travel expenses.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
