Gas station employee sues customer who allegedly struck her with vehicle

GRETNA – A gas station employee is suing a customer for alleged injuries she received when he ran into her with his vehicle.

Kennetta James filed suit against Robert Wallace in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 1.

James alleges that on May 4, 2013 she was an employee of the Shell gas station located at 2145 Barataria Blvd. in Marrero when Wallace was backing out of a parking space and ran into her. The plaintiff asserts she received bodily injuries due to the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to see what should have been seen, negligent entrustment of vehicle, failing to maintain proper control of the vehicle and improper backing of the vehicle.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses and lost wages.

James is represented by Brian G. Shearman of New Orleans-based Shearman-Denenea LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

Case no. 737-998.
