GRETNA – A pregnant woman who clams she was injured in a fall on a set of wet and slippery stairs as she was leaving a medical clinic is suing.

Ariane Tillman filed suit against Colony Insurance Company and WMC Real Estate Holdings LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 2.

Tillman claims that on July 10, 2013 she was exiting her medical clinic located in a commercial property owned by WMC Real Estate Holdings LLC and located at 515 Westbank Expressway in Gretna when she slipped and fell down a flight of wet stairs. The plaintiff alleges the area was unsafe due to a leaky roof. Tillman asserts she received injuries to her back, head, knees, legs, hips and rib cage in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to discover and correct the dangerous condition, failing to take reasonable measures to protect against an unreasonable risk of harm, failing to take measures to alleviate the defective condition and failing to provide pedestrians with a safe means of exiting the building.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for mental anguish and distress, disability, disfigurement, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.

Tillman is represented by Alonzo T. Stanga III of Metairie-based Stanga & Mustain.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 739-048.
