NEW ORLEANS – A woman is suing Harrah's casino for alleged negligence resulting in her reported ingestion of one or more insects while dining at The Buffet at Harrah's.
Chianti Bailey filed suit against The Buffet at Harrah's, Harrah's New Orleans and Caesars Entertainment Operating Company Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 25.
Bailey claims that on June 25, 2013, she was dining at The Buffet at Harrah's at 228 Poydras Street New Orleans. The plaintiff asserts that during her meal, she noticed and consumed one or more black bugs in her food.
According to the suit, Bailey became physically ill and sustained painful and serious personal injuries and economic damages after the meal.
The defendant is accused of gross negligence, including failure to keep the food and service areas free from bugs and insects, failure to properly maintain the food preparation and service procedures in a reasonably safe condition and failure to warn patrons of said dangerous and defective conditions after receiving proper notice.
The plaintiff seeks an unknown amount in compensation to include permanent damage to her medical expenses, past and future economic damages and loss of consortium.
