GRETNA – A man who claims he was severely injured after he fell over a railing on a second story balcony is suing the property owner.
Brian S. Johnson filed suit against State Farm and Casualty Company, Amundson Properties LLC and Allen Amundson Jr. in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 12.
The plaintiff contends that on Sept. 15, 2013 he was on a porch balcony at a leased property located at 709 Orion Ave. in Metairie. Johnson claims that he slipped on the balcony flooring and fell over the railing and to the ground below. The plaintiff alleges that he received severe injuries including traumatic brain injury, concussion, fractured skull, open wounds to her head, mouth injuries, broken teeth, psychological injury and injuries to his legs and ankles.
The defendant is accused of failing to keep the property in a reasonably safe condition.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of life’s pleasures, disability, medical expenses, memory loss, lost wages, lost earning capacity and loss of consortium.
Johnson is represented by Stephen A. Rue of Kenner-based Stephen Rue & Associate LLC.
The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
