GRETNA – A real estate agent is suing a real estate broker over unpaid commission on a sold home.
Beverly Curole filed suit against Island Realty LLC and Carolyn Angelette in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 15.
Curole alleges that she worked on behalf of the defendants to secure real estate listings and enter into purchase agreements on their behalf and that when the sale was completed she would receive a three percent commission. The plaintiff contends she did substantial work for the defendants on a transaction between two third parties that the defendants were to receive a six percent commission. Curole claims that Island Realty and Angelette failed to pay her a three percent portion of that sale.
The plaintiff asserts that she is entitled to damages under state law.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages equal to three percent commission for the sale of the home are sought by the plaintiff.
Curole is represented by Charles S. Long of Donaldsonville-based Long & Long Law Firm.
The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
Case no. 740-322.
