Home elevation contractor sues over alleged non-payment

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A home elevation company is suing a customer for alleged non-payment of services.

Louisiana Building Maintenance Company Inc. filed suit against Michelle O’Regan in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 21.

The company claims it was  contracted by O’Regan to elevate a slab of concrete located at 1616 Maple St. in Metairie. The plaintiff claims that on July 22, 2011 it executed a contract with the defendant in the amount of $30,000 payable in $300 per month payments that were to begin on Dec. 15 and continue until the debt was paid. Louisiana Building Maintenance Company Inc. alleges it completed the elevation work on the property, but that the defendant has refused to make payments on the debt.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $30,000 plus interest, court costs and attorney’s fees.

Louisiana Building Maintenance Company Inc. is represented by Juana Marine Lombard of New Orleans-based Lombard Law Firm.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
