GRETNA – A local hospital is suing a healthcare management service provider claiming it owes nearly $100,000.
Jefferson Parish Hospital Service District No. 2 and East Jefferson General Hospital filed suit against Comprehensive Behavioral Care Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 28.
East Jefferson General Hospital alleges that Comprehensive Behavioral Care Inc. was responsible for providing healthcare services on behalf of health insurance companies and that it failed to remit funds for 15 patients who had received care at the hospital from August 2011 to August 2012. The plaintiff asserts its caregivers treated all of the patients and that on their discharge the defendant should have paid for services under contract.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $98,750 are sought by the plaintiff.
