Contractor sued for allegedly not paying supplier more than $34K for goods

GRETNA – A construction supply company is suing a local contractor claiming it is owed nearly $35,000 for goods provided.

American Builders & Contractors Supply Co. Inc. filed suit against Progressive Roofing LLC, Chris Matise and Robin Loetzerich in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 6.

American Builders & Contractors Supply Co. Inc. asserts Progressive Roofing LLC, Matise and Loetzerich signed a promissory note on Nov. 13, 2013 for materials provided from December 2012 through May 2013. The plaintiff contends the defendant is past due in payment on charges of $34,862.38 with 15 percent interest. American Builders & Contractors Supply Co. Inc. claims it made a demand for payment on the account on June 11, but have still not received any repayment.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $34,862.38 plus costs of collection, interest costs, legal expenses and attorney fees are sought by the plaintiff.

American Builders & Contractors Supply Co. Inc. is represented by Richard B. Levin of Metairie-based Levin Law Offices.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
