GRETNA – A grandmother who claims to have purchased a life insurance policy in her granddaughter’s name alleges she was not paid when her granddaughter later died.
Jacqueline Walker filed suit against Primerica Life Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 12.
Walker alleges on July 2, 2012 she purchased a $20,000 life insurance policy from Primerica Life Insurance Company to cover her granddaughter who died on Aug. 17, 2013. The plaintiff contends that despite having provided proof of the death of her granddaughter the defendant has refused to comply with the terms of the insurance policy.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $20,000 plus 8 percent yearly interest are sought by the plaintiff.
Walker is represented by attorney J. Hunter Bienvenu of Gretna.
The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
