NEW ORLEANS- A former sales associate is suing his former employer, a realty company, for information regarding properties he sold with the goal of securing commissions due to him under his independent contractor's agreement.

David Roberts Wright filed suit against TEC Realtors Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 4.

Wright allegedly became a sales associate/independent contractor with TEC in November of 2004. The suit states that Wright's contract entitled him to a percentage of commissions generated from all leases, lease renewals, and sales that he secured for TEC.

On April 4, 2011, Wright and TEC's relationship reportedly ended. At that time, Wright claims that his contractor agreement entitled him to continue to receive commissions on all properties he had sold during his time with TEC.

With the goal of evaluating his entitlement to compensation under the agreement, Wright has asked that TEC provide all documentation relating to 22 properties he handled for the real estate company. The plaintiff claims that TEC has failed to produce any information per his request.

The plaintiff is asking that the court require TEC to provide the aforementioned documentation relating to properties listed in Wright's suit, with an accounting of all commissions received by TEC on all leases and any subsequent sales on the properties.

Wright is also seeking a judgment for all amounts due as a result of commissions received by TEC with regard to sales and/or leases which he procured prior to April 4, 2011. The plaintiff prays that TEC Realtors Inc. be required to pay all amounts due to him for future commissions pursuant to his agreement with the defendant.
