NEW ORLEANS – A woman is suing multiple companies over alleged property damage caused by removal of sheetrock.

Kim Colson Brickley filed suit against Southern Fidelity Insurance Company, Ville St. John Owner’s Association and Soniat Reality Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 9.

Brickley contends that on Aug. 21 interior sheetrock was removed from her residence at 818 Moss Street, Unit 8 in New Orleans revealing harmful by-products from water entry and pests said to have lived and died within the wall enclaves.

The defendants are accused of failing to provide adequate custodial services, clean any hazardous conditions, properly repair unsanitary conditions and maintain yearly checkups of the premises.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages for full value of property, mold damage, debris removal, mental agony, pain and suffering, disabilities, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, loss of wages and damaged contents.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney David W. Gernhauser Jr.

The case has been assigned to Div. A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.

Case no. 2014-08766.
