GRETNA – A man is suing his landlord after allegedly breaking his hip in a fall in his apartment on water that leaked from pipes.
Ray Morrogh filed suit against DKA Four LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 3.
Morrogh claims that on Sept. 7 he was walking in his apartment located at 4021 Hessmer Ave. in Metairie when he slipped and fell on water that had leaked into his apartment from bad pipes. The plaintiff alleges he had to undergo surgery to repair a broken hip stemming from the incident. Morrogh contends that other apartments in DKA Four LLC’s building suffered from the same problem and that the defendant should have known about and fixed leaks prior to the incident occurring.
The defendant is accused of failing to properly inspect and maintain the apartment, allowing an unreasonably dangerous condition to exist and failing to use reasonable and prudent care under the circumstances.
Damages in excess of $50,000 are sought for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
