Homeowner sued for $39K over alleged non-payment of home elevation

GRETNA – A homeowner is being sued by a company that elevated her home for allegedly not paying for the job.

Orleans Shoring LLC filed suit against Norma Jean in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 8.

Orleans Shoring claims that on July 9, 2013 it entered into an agreement with Jean to elevate her home located 684 Wall Blvd. in Gretna for a coast of $39,411.01. The plaintiff alleges that it provided labor, services and materials to complete the project. However, Orleans Shoring contends that Jean has refused to pay for the work provided.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $39,411.01 plus attorney’s fees is sought by the plaintiff.

Orleans Shoring is represented by attorney Jason Wade of Harahan.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

Case no. 743-172.
