Rock 'N' Bowl sued over customer’s alleged injuries from fall

Rock n bowl

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing the renowned Uptown bowling alley Rock 'N' Bowl claiming she slipped and fell while at the establishment due to a puddle of liquid on the floor.

Heather L. Neill filed suit against Mid-City Bowling Lanes and Sports Palace Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Dec. 11, 2014.

The plaintiff asserts that she was at Rock 'N' Bowl, a bowling establishment owned and operated by the defendants and located at 3016 S Carrollton Ave. in New Orleans with her friends on May 23, 2014. Neill claims that while walking out of the women's restroom she slipped and fell on a wet area of the floor and sustained serious injuries as a result.

Neill claims negligence on the part of the establishment in creating an unreasonably dangerous condition that resulted in the fall. The plaintiff accuses the defendant of failing to give warning of the dangerous conditions and allowing a hazardous condition to exist.

The plaintiff seeks an unspecified amount of damages for medical expenses and physical pain and suffering.

The plaintiff is represented by George B. Recile and Matthew A. Sherman of Metairie-based Chehardy, Sherman, Ellis, Murray, Recile, Griffith, Stakelum & Hayes LLP.

This case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.

Case no. 2014-11758.
