NEW ORLEANS – AT&T is suing a major construction company after a local property it owns allegedly suffered damages during renovation.
BellSouth Telecommunications LLC D/B/A AT&T Louisiana filed suit against Cain Construction and Designs LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Jan. 5.
Bellsouth Telecommunications claims it noticed its location at 1515 St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans had sustained damages relating to, “the loss of use of the cable and the interruption of vital communication services" last March. It claims that employees of Cain Construction and Designs were allegedly responsible for the damages as they were removing cable during a renovation project.
AT&T accuses Cain of failing to properly observe and inspect AT&T’s facility, avoid utilities installed by AT&T, plan accordingly, maintain a safe environment, and use care during renovations.
The plaintiff is represented by Michael B. Alker and Charles E. Sutton Jr. of Sutton, Alker & Rather LLC.
The case has been assigned to Div. L Chief Judge Kern A. Reese.
Case no. 2015-00016.
