Client allegedly failed to repay $6K, faces lawsuit

GRETNA – A finance company is suing a client it claims failed to fully repay a $6,000 loan.

Springleaf Financial Services of Louisiana Inc. filed suit against Leasha Anderson in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 23.

Springleaf claims that on June 20, 2014 it entered into a contract to provide Anderson with a $6,096.77 loan. The plaintiff alleges the defendant was supposed to repay the loan in 42 monthly installments, but refused to make timely payments. Springleaf contends it has sent letters of demand to Anderson notifying her of the repayment, yet have heard nothing  back.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of is sought for $5,839.40.

Springleaf is represented by Tony Dooley of New Orleans-based The Dooley Law Office LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
