GRETNA – A hair salon is suing a former employee who allegedly ran afoul of a non-compete contract.
H2O Hair Inc. and H2O Salon & Spa filed suit against Katrina Ferrara Barletta in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 3.
H2O Hair Inc. and H2O Salon & Spa alleges Barletta was employed as a hair stylist from February 2005 until Dec. 13, 2012. The plaintiff contends that upon beginning her employment, the defendant entered into a non-competition agreement that would disallow her from working for a competitor for a two year period following the termination of her employment with them.
H2O Hair Inc. and H2O Salon & Spa asserts that following her departure, Barletta began working at a competing salon, Glow Hair and Beauty Bar, in breach of her non-competition agreement.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for restitution in the amount of all of Barletta’s earnings, loss of profits, loss of goodwill and loss of reputation.
H2O Hair Inc. and H2O Salon & Spa is represented by Kenneth C. Fonte of Metairie-based Golden & Fonte.
The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
