Target sued by customer allegedly injured in trip over box

GRETNA – Target is being sued by woman who claims she was injured in a trip over a box.

Alicia A. Olivier filed suit against Target Corporation of Minnesota in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 26.

Olivier alleges on Dec. 1, 2014 she was shopping with her mother and daughter at the Target located at 1731 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey when took a step and tripped over a box sitting on the floor. The plaintiff contends she fell to the floor and was injured as a result.

The defendant is accused of failing to keep floors in safe condition, failing to make a reasonable effort to keep the premises free of hazard, creating a hazard, failing to exercise reasonable care, failing to properly supervise an employee and failing to provide warning of a hazard.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for loss of earnings, loss of earning capacity, medical expenses, physical pain and suffering and mental pain and suffering.

Olivier is represented by attorney Anthony L. Glorioso of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

Case no. 750-004.
