A Texas enterprise doing business in Louisiana is suing a Singapore-owned marine vessel, charging breach of contract that purportedly led to the plaintiff’s economic injuries.
Wrist North America Inc., doing business as World Ship Supply, filed a lawsuit Sept. 2 against M/V Yellowstone in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana, alleging failure to submit payment for goods delivered, and seeking forfeiture of the vessel, its equipment and appurtenances to satisfy its claims of indebtedness.
According to the lawsuit, World Ship Supply provided supplies to the M/V Yellowstone between December 2014 and August 2015 per mutual agreement between the parties.
The suit states World Ship invoiced the defendant on multiple dates between Dec. 17, 2014 and Aug. 28, 2015 but the vessel’s owners never submitted payments for goods received.
According to the suit, the defendants are indebted to the plaintiff for 28,105.58, plus interest.
World Ship Supply seeks a court-ordered warrant for the arrest/attachment of the marine vessel by the U.S. marshal for the Eastern District of Louisiana, to be sold and proceeds disbursed to itself after due proceedings, along with interest, attorney fees, expenses and court costs.
