GRETNA – A homeowner is suing after allegedly being injured after a passing truck struck a cable line in front of her house and it snapped into her.
Tammy Disher filed suit against John Doe, Riverside Food Distributors, F. Christiana & Co., State national Instance Company Inc. and Cox Communications Louisiana in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 9.
Disher alleges that on Dec. 3, 2014 she was standing in front of her home located at 515 Avenue A in Marerro when a vehicle owned by F. Christiana & Co. and driven by an unknown driver “John Doe” struck overhead cable lines. The plaintiff contends that the defendant’s truck caused the cable to strike her. Disher asserts she suffered painful mental and physical injuries in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to keep a proper lookout, driving in a careless and reckless manner, failing to see what should have been seen, failing to place cables at an adequate height and failing to properly train employees.
Damages not to exceed $50,000 are sought for pain and suffering, permanent damage to person, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, property damage and economic damages.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
