Jefferson Parish Sewerage District sued for allegedly injuring woman in car accident

GRETNA – A local sewerage district is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured in a traffic accident caused by one of their drivers.

Quincy Jackson, and husband Shawne, filed suit against Consolidated Sewerage District No. 1 of the Parish of Jefferson and Thomas C. Hoyt in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 10.

Jackson contends on July 21, 2014 she was in her 2011 Ford Explorer on the shoulder eastbound on Amanda Street in Metairie when a Consolidated Sewerage District No. 1 truck being driven by Hoyt struck her vehicle multiple times. The plaintiff asserts she suffered painful and disabling injuries in the collision.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages and loss of earning capacity.

Jackson is represented by Joel T. Chaission II of Destrehan-based Chaission & Chaission.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
