A Plaquemines Parish-based boat and ship rental company is suing a Texas-based geochemistry and environmental chemistry corporation, alleging breach of contract over boating rental fees of more than $500,000.
Atlas Boats Inc. filed a lawsuit Aug. 27 in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana against TDI-Brooks International Inc., alleging breach of contract failing to make timely payments and failing to pay invoices within 30 days after expiration of each billing period.
According to the complaint, as of April 1, seven monthly invoices remained unpaid and a balance of $510,753.32 remains due, plus interest at a rate of 1 percent per month, from the due date of each invoice.
Atlas Boats seeks the full sum of $510,753.32, plus interest rate from the due date of each invoice, attorney fees, legal costs and expenses. It is represented by attorneys George Pivach and Corey E. Dunbar of Pivach, Pivach, Hufft & Thriffiley & Dunbar of Belle Chasse.
