Heliport builder sues offshore services firm, alleging breach of contract

Contract

A heliport manufacturer is suing an offshore services company, alleging the company has failed to pay for services the plaintiff provided.

FEC Heliports filed a complaint Sept. 29 in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana against Hornbeck Offshore Operations, with offices in Covington, alleging breach of contract.

The complaint states FEC Heliports designed, manufactured and installed heliports on two Hornbeck Offshore vessels, the Bayou and the Riverbend, per an agreement between the two parties.

The suit says FEC Heliports invoiced Hornbeck for the work performed, but the defendant has failed to pay a June 18, 2014, invoice of approximately $1 million, a May 5, 2015, invoice for approximately $350,000, and another May 5, 2015, invoice for $30,000 in shipping costs.

FEC Heliports seeks to recover approximately $1.4 million, plus interest, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney George C. Plauche of Plauche & Carr in Lafayette.

U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana case number 2:15-cv-04827-MLCF-JCW.
