Attorney Liz Roussel, partner and executive committee member at Adams and Reese in New Orleans, has been elected to join the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel.

The FDCC is a group of leaders in the legal community who have achieved professional distinction. Roussel told the Louisiana Record she’s honored to be in such company.

“The Counsel is an elite group of leaders in the legal community,” Roussel told the Louisiana Record. “And I am privileged to have been chosen to be part of an organization dedicated to representing those in need of a civil lawsuit defense.”

The FDCC is dedicated to promoting knowledge, fellowship and professionalism of its members. Roussel says she also hopes to meet new people, develop new relationships and strengthen her leadership skills through membership with the FDCC.

"I also hope to gain insight and perspective from the corporate counsel members of the group and to share ideas with other defense counsel about their practices and experiences, particularly as the delivery of legal services continues to evolve," Roussel said.

At Adams and Reese, Roussel says she focuses her practice in the areas of labor and employment litigation, commercial litigation and director and officer liability claims litigation. She’s represented a variety of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, private universities, nonprofit corporations and charter schools.

When Roussel isn’t practicing law, she can be found serving her community in other capacities.

“One of my favorite times is every Sunday morning when I teach Sunday School to an inquisitive and inspiring group of third to fifth graders at Trinity Episcopal Church,” she said.

She also serves on the board of directors for Longue Vue House and Gardens and is a supporter and advocate for the work of the Children’s Bureau of New Orleans.

Roussel earned her J.D. from Tulane University Law School in 2002.
