A St. James Parish man is suing the Donaldsonville company that owns Lucky Dollar Casino and Chuck Lee’s Chinese Restaurant, alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Milton Cayette filed a lawsuit on Oct. 16 in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana against Mike M. Marcello Inc. of Donaldsonville, alleging its property in St. James violates the ADA.

According to the complaint, Cayette has visited the property numerous times, most recently in September, but he has experienced problems accessing the facilities because they are not in compliance with the ADA. The plaintiff has disabilities requiring the use of a wheelchair or walker, the suit states.

Cayette seeks changes to the property in accordance with the ADA, litigation costs, and further relief deemed appropriate by the court. He is represented by attorneys Andrew D. Bizer, Garret S. DeReus and Amanda K. Klevorn of The Bizer Law Firm in New Orleans.

U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana case number 2:15-cv-05219-CJB-JCW.
