NEW ORLEANS – The owners of Lucy’s Retired Surfer’s Bar and Restaurant in New Orleans are suing its former manager for allegedly stealing company profits through fraud and theft, adding up to more than $850,000.
TWTB, Inc. and Frank Eugene Raper filed a lawsuit against Bruce J. Rampick on Aug. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, citing theft and fraud.
In or about October or November 2014, a former employee of Lucy’s told Raper that from a time prior to June 2012 and continuing through at least July 2014, Rampick allegedly stole cash from the satellite bars operated by Lucy’s for his own use, and created false and fictitious books and writings to conceal the thefts.
Raper claims that in a subsequent investigation that he discovered Rampick had misappropriated money to other business interests owned by him in Austin, Texas, as well as used Lucy’s assets to pay for his family members' personal bills, rents, tuitions and credit card expenses.
The plaintiff seeks $866,131.46 and any other costs the court deems fit.
