Employee sues Citadel Builders over claims of sexual battery

Larsex

NEW ORLEANS – An Alabama resident is being sued after he allegedly sexually harassed an employee.

Wayne Gordon filed a complaint June 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Leon Regan of Citadel Builders LLC, and XYZ Insurance Co., alleging sexual battery.

The claim purports that on June 10, 2014, four days after he was hired by Citadel Builders, the plaintiff was asked into the office of his male supervisor who made sexual advances towards him by discussing the employee's penis and touching the plaintiff's pants. When Gordon denied these advances, Regan commented on salary and stated that if a sexual relationship continued, there would be no changes to Gordon's salary. The following work day, Gordon's salary was reduced by $6 an hour and Regan claimed that it was within his rights

The complaint states the defendant was outside of his rights by breaching the appropriate work protocol, such as equal employment and employee protection. As a result of this event, Gordon has suffered loss of employment as well as psychological stress from the incident.

Gordon is seeking $650,000 for monetary damages from each defendant, $300,000 from Regan and Citadel Builders and $100,000 from XYZ Insurance for exemplary damages, and $200,000 from Regan and Citadel Builders and $150,000 from XYZ Insurance for punitive damages for all anguish that was sustained. Gordon is representing himself.
