NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana couple are suing the manufacturer and dealer of a motor home they bought, saying the $81,000 vehicle was defective in materials and workmanship.
Anthony E. and Carol Veign filed a lawsuit Nov. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Forest River Inc., the manufacturers of Coachmen motor homes, and dealer Dixie Motors, alleging breach of implied and express warranties and other counts.
According to the complaint, the Veigns purchased a 2015 Coachmen Leprechaun motor home from Dixie Motors on Aug. 15, 2014, for $80,956.06, with the additional finance charges bringing the total to more than $150,000. The plaintiffs allege the vehicle was in the shop for weeks at a time for numerous repairs, but that the most crucial defects were never fixed.
