Worker accuses Fieldwood Energy of negligence over alleged workplace injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A worker says Fieldwood Energy is responsible for on-the-job injuries he allegedly sustained.

Donald Washington filed a lawsuit Dec. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Fieldwood Energy LLC and FIeldwood Energy Offshore, alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, Washington was working for Taylors International Inc. when he slipped and fell on unsecured stairs the defendant had provided. Washington’s injuries, which included herniated discs, nerve damage, and wounds to his head, back, ribs, legs feet and hands, require medicine and other medical expenses.

Washington seeks punitive and compensatory damages to be proven at trial, plus litigation costs and interest. He is represented by attorney David C. Whitmore and Lawrence Blake Jones of the New Orleans firm Sheuermann and Jones.
