Sailor blames Rockin 'D' Marine for his on-the-job injuries

Work injury claim form

NEW ORLEANS – A man says Rockin “D” Marine Services is responsible for his work-related injuries aboard the Capt. Trey.

Dennie Maddox filed a lawsuit Dec. 22 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Rockin “D” Marine Services LLC and Rockin “D” Offshore LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Maddox was working for the defendants as a seaman aboard the marine vessel Capt. Trey, when he suffered an injury to his back, shoulder and other parts of his body on Aug. 28. The suit claims the injuries were a result of Rockin “D” Marine Services’ failure to provide safe working conditions for Maddox, including neglecting to properly train the plaintiff and provide adequate equipment. As a result, Maddox says he remains unable to work and is entitled to recover lost wages and benefits, as well as compensation for pain and suffering.

Maddox seeks punitive and compensatory damages, legal interest and litigation costs. He is represented by attorneys Timothy J. Young, Tammy D. Harris, Megan C. Misko and Daniel J. Poolson Jr. of The Young Firm in New Orleans.
