ALEXANDRIA – A Kentucky couple is suing an RV manufacturer, claiming the trailer they purchased in 2015 was defective.
Jerry T. Stilley and Denise Oketa Manson-Stilley filed a lawsuit March 15 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana against Keystone RV Co. and Primeaux RV LLC and Bank of the West, alleging breach of express and implied warranty.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs bought a new Voltage Fifth Wheel travel trailer from the Primeaux RV on May 1, 2015, at a dealership in Carencro. The suit says the $73,260 vehicle was financed with an $8,000 down payment and a loan for the remaining amount by Bank of the West.
The Stilleys claim the RV’s roof leaked, there was water damage and buckling of the walls, rips in the roof by the air conditioner, a malfunctioning DVD player and numerous other defects in materials and workmanship. After several repair attempts, the suit claims the vehicle remains defective, substantially reducing its value and safety.
The Stilleys seek a jury trial, rescission of the sale and damages for expenses and litigation costs to be determined at trial. They are represented by attorney Fred A. Pharis of Pharis Law Offices in Alexandria.
