Entergy Operations accused of not paying overtime

Debt

BATON ROUGE – Security team members are suing their former employer over allegations that they were not paid overtime.

Thomas Arnold, Robert Burr, John Travis Haskins, Vincent Honey Sr., Kenneth Kimball, Leon McManus, McKinnley Muse, Jeffrey Scott, Clyde Smith, LaTrina Toy and Jimmy Weaver filed a complaint on April 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Entergy Operations Inc. alleging that the employer violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they did not receive proper compensation for extra hours worked and were misclassified under the FLSA. The plaintiffs holds Entergy Operations Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly claimed that the FLSA overtime requirements did not apply to them and failed to pay time-and-one-half of their regular rates for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a single week.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensation for damages and an equal amount of liquidated damages, reasonable attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses and any other additional relief that justice may require or permit. They are represented by R. Glenn Cater of Cater & Associates LLC in New Orleans.
