Woman alleges she was injured by caramel dispenser

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages following an incident in a Jefferson Parish casino in which she was allegedly caused injury while using a self-serve dessert station.

Nikki Ell and Arthur Leblanc filed a suit against Treasure Chest Casino LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 13.

According to the claim, Ell was a guest at the buffet restaurant located in Treasure Chest Casino at 5050 Williams Blvd., Kenner on April 13, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while using the self-serve caramel dispenser, Ell was caused personal injury which affected her hand and chest.

The defendant is accused of negligence in failing to maintain the machine that was allegedly responsible for the incident, as well as failing to mark the dangerous area and failing to warn customers of the danger.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Joseph C. Possa and Cullen R. Clement of Tyler & Possa in Baton Rouge. The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel
