Woman seeks damages following the alleged cracking of a concrete slab

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages following an incident in which the contracted companies allegedly failed to take the necessary precautions in completing a job.

Lisa Runnels filed a suit against Aldnete Shoring Co., Pelican Shoring Co. and Hazard Mitigation Inspectors in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 21.

According to the claim, Runnels was caused personal damages when the defendants failed to take the necessary precautions in the raising of a house located at 2513 Minnesota Ave. in Metairie and were negligent in the completion of the job. The suit states that the defendants failed to take the necessary precautions, which resulted in the cracking of a concrete slab.

The defendants are accused of negligence in relation to the completion of the job.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is representing herself. The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
