Woman alleges she was struck in face by foul ball

GRETNA – A St. Charles Parish woman is seeking damages after an incident in which she claims she was struck in the face by a foul ball.

Rochelle Johnson filed a suit against the city of Kenner and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 16.

According to the claim, Johnson was in attendance at a softball game at Muss Bertolino Park on April 30, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while sitting at the third base line bleachers, the plaintiff was struck in the face with a ball, allegedly causing her to sustain injuries to her face. 

The defendant is accused of negligence through its failure to foresee and or act in a way to prevent such an incident from occurring.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Ogden L. Pitre of the Pitre Law Firm in Opelousas. The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
