Two Marrero individuals file libel suit

GRETNA – Two individuals are seeking damages following an incident in which false information allegedly damaged their reputations.

Zanab Hadad and Carlos Rumious filed a suit against Latifeh Hadad, Abdoul Raheem Hadad, et al. in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 29.

According to the claim, the defendants engaged in libel, slander and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act violations beginning on Jan. 1, 2010, and continuing on from this date. The suit states that the actions of the defendants damaged the reputation of the plaintiffs.

The defendants are accused of libel, slander and HIPAA violations, as well as intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, loss of consortium, conversion of property and fraud.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are representing themselves. The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
