Man claims vehicle was damaged by load from delivery truck

Car accident 36

GRETNA – A St. Tammany Parish man claims he and his vehicle suffered damages after a load fell off of a truck.

Clint Landry filed a suit against Continental Carbonic Products Inc., Metheson Tri-Gas Inc., Ace American Insurance Co. and Tokio Marine American Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 29.

According to the claim, Landry was operating his vehicle on June 9, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that Landry was driving his 2014 Dodge Ram through a parking lot when the driver and employee of Continental Carbonic and or Matheson Tri-Gas allowed a load to fall off of the lift gate, striking the plaintiff's vehicle and allegedly injuring the plaintiff.

The defendants are accused of negligence through their failure to keep a proper level of awareness, failing to observe the position of the plaintiff's vehicle and failing to observe and prevent accidents during the loading and unloading process, in addition to allowing such a driver to handle the duty.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Michael Hingle, Michael Hingle III, Bryan A. Pfleeger and Donald G. D'Aunoy of Michael Hingle and Associates in Slidell. The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi
