State Farm Fire and Casualty Co., as partial subrogee of Seren Whitaker and Nicole Whitaker, filed a suit against James G. Bessinger Jr. and St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 2.

According to the claim, the incident occurred on April 28, 2015, when Seren Whitaker was driving his 2003 Chevrolet Suburban on Veterans Boulevard in the vicinity of Massachusetts Avenue.
