Two Jefferson Parish individuals seek damages following car accident

GRETNA – Two individuals are seeking damages following a car accident which was allegedly due to another driver's negligence.

Catalina F. Mullen and Scott Mullen filed a suit against James Edward Mora and East Jefferson General Hospital Foundation in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 9.

According to the claim, Catalina Mullen was driving a 2011 Cadillac Escalade owned by Scott Mullen on Feb. 26 when the incident occurred. The suit states that Mullen was on Meadowdale Street in Jefferson Parish and came to a full stop at the intersection of Clearview Parkway. According to the suit, Mora, an employee of East Jefferson General Hospital was driving at the same time on Clearview Parkway and purportedly speeding. Mora's driving above the speed limit purportedly caused him to collide with the plaintiff's car.

The defendant is accused of negligence through his failure to operate the vehicle responsibly, maintain a safe speed limit, keep a proper lookout or use the proper lane.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Salvador M. Brocato III of Brocato Law Firm in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
