Photography lighting equipment alleged to have injured woman

GRETNA – A St. John the Baptist Parish woman alleges that she was caused injury at a wedding when lighting equipment fell on her.

Keanna Theriot filed a suit against Continental Casualty Co. and Montoto Productions LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 3.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at a wedding held at the Presidential Palace in Kenner on Sept. 5, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while sitting at a dining table some lighting equipment that was owned by Montoto Productions fell on the plaintiff, causing her injury.

Montoto Productions is accused of negligence through its failure to properly maintain its property, failure to take the necessary precautions to avoid an accident and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by DaShawn Hayes of the Hayes Law Firm in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
