Man alleges knee injures after fall on wet floor at Holiday Inn

GRETNA – An Indiana couple is seeking damages claiming that the husband was caused to slip and fall on an unmarked portion of wet ground.

Charles Jones and Rhonda Jones filed a suit against Causeway Hospitality LLC and Hanover American Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 7.

According to the claim, the plaintiff and his wife were guests at the Holiday Inn at 2261 N. Causeway Blvd. in Metairie on July 4, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that Charles Jones slipped in a hallway that had just been mopped with no signage indicating the state of the floor. The plaintiff allegedly was caused to slip and fall on the wet floor and was caused injuries to his knee.

The defendant is accused of negligence through its failure to follow protocol for placing signage in such instances, failure to warn customers of the danger and overall negligence in regards to the treatment of the situation.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by David D. Kervin Jr. of Covington. The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
