Woman claims injuries after fall on steps at Westwago property

GRETNA – A Louisiana woman claims that she was caused to trip and fall on unsafe steps.

Deborah Brown filed a suit against Beechgrove Claiborne Homes and/or Beechgrove Claiborne Apartments, NDC Real Estate Management Inc. and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 2.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was walking up the stairs at the property located at 9368 Cindy Drive in Westwago when the incident occurred on Oct. 11, 2015. The suit states that while walking, the plaintiff was caused to trip and fall on the allegedly unsafe steps.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failure to properly maintain the property for guests, failure to warn the guests of the danger and failure to inspect the steps properly.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Pierre F. Gaudin of Gretna. The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
