A-1 Home Appliance Center claims it was sold a defective vehicle

GRETNA – An appliance center is seeking damages claiming that it was sold a defective vehicle.

A-1 Home Appliance Center Inc. filed a suit against ITA Truck Sales & Service LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 14.

According to the claim, the plaintiff purchased a 2005 International Model 4200 truck from the defendant on May 8, 2014. The suit states that two months after agreeing to a contract for $23,361.50, the plaintiff became aware of defects in the vehicle, such as a rusted fuel tank, poor wiring and speedometer errors. The suit also states that despite the plaintiff's requests that repairs be made, the defendant has failed to remedy the situation.

The defendant is accused of breach of warranty of redhibition and breach of powertrain warranty

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. It is represented by Corey E. Dunbar of Pivach, Pivach, Hufft Triffiley & Dunbar LLC in Belle Chasse. The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
