Car accident 36

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages following an incident in which she was allegedly rear-ended by a car owned by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Holly Tilly filed a suit against John Venture and Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 13.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was driving her 2015 Chevrolet Silverado on Jefferson Highway on July 10, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that she was in the right lane near the intersection with Woodlawn Avenue when her vehicle was struck by a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria, which was owned by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and operated by Venture.

Venture is accused of negligence, gross carelessness and inattention through failure to change lanes in a safe manner, failure to look out for what was ahead and traveling at a speed which was excessive.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by John C. Bono and Michael P. Bono of the Bono Law Firm in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
