Slip01

GRETNA – A woman alleges that she was caused to slip and fall on Febreeze spray in a store's restroom.

Shawn Faucheaux, wife of Irvin Faucheaux, filed a suit against Target Corp. of Minnesota, ABC Target employee and XYZ insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 27.

According to the claim, the plaintiff decided to use the ladies' restroom when she was leaving the Target located in the Clearview Mall on Nov. 28, 2015. The suit states that upon entering the restroom, she encountered a Target employee who was spraying Febreeze in the air. After using the restroom and washing her hands, the suit says that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on the residue that the Febreeze had left on the floor, causing injuries.

The defendants are accused of negligence through creating an unsafe, defective and hazardous condition on the floor.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Joseph L. Montgomery of Joseph L. Montgomery and Associates LLC in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
